Tests and Results

For your test results please telephone The Patients Services Team on 01252 541884 AFTER 2.00pm. We can only give out results to the person who has had the test.


Please allow THREE WORKING DAYS for straightforward blood tests to come back from the hospital, unless your doctor has advised otherwise. Some blood tests can take up to FIVE WORKING DAYS. X-rays and scans can take longer, usually up to TEN WORKING DAYS.

Please remember that our reception staff can only give out straightforward test results (as marked by the doctor). The receptionists are not qualified to interpret any result.


Sometimes we cannot give full results over the telephone. If the result is complicated, or if the doctor wants to see you about the result, we will offer you an appointment.


To help, we may send you a text asking you to make a GP appointment or GP telephone appointment to discuss the results.  This does not mean that there is anything unduly concerning about the result but the GP may want to give further advice or information depending on the nature of the test or result.
