Out of Hours

If you need urgent care when the Surgery is closed (between the hours of 18.30 PM and 8 AM Monday through to Friday and all day and night at the weekends and Public Holidays there is a new free phone number which will be able to direct your call to the most appropriate service. This service is staffed by call handlers who will take you through a series of questions to ascertain the best care for your problem.  If you do become ill when the surgery is closed or want health information or advice any time of day you are able to call the free phone number for help.

A call handler will ask you for some brief details about yourself and the nature of your problem. If you need to be seen by a doctor then your details will be passed on to the Out of Hours doctor who will arrange an appointment for you.  The Out of Hours Service is not a walk-in Service and you must dial 111 to obtain an appointment.

Please note that all calls are recorded for patient safety and are free from both land-lines and mobile phones.  If you are dialling 111 from outside the Hampshire area your call will be unable to be connected and you will need to dial 01962 718961 - calls to this number are not free but will be transferred to the 111 Service.

You can also ask your local pharmacist for help and advice on common ailments and problems.

Please think carefully before dialling 999 or using the A & E Department. These services are for people who are seriously ill or injured and the 111 Service is manned by staff who are able to call an ambulance immediately should this be necessary.
