Clinics and Other Services Available

Orthopaedic Service / Physiotherapy

We would like to notify our patients that our reception team will be asking you some brief details regarding your request for an appointment.  Please indicate the nature and urgency of your problem so we can help you as efficiently as possible.  This will ensure that you are booked in with the correct healthcare professional and that the quickest route to treatments or advice is taken.  Our healthcare team is expanding .....   you can read more about it by selecting the Orthopaedic tab on the left.

Foreign Travel

We provide comprehensive travel advice. If you are planning holidays abroad, you should check with us well before you are due to travel so that we can make sure that any necessary immunisation is completed in time. Some vaccines are free of charge.  Please print off the travel questionnaire found on the "other documents" page, complete as much as you can and hand in to reception with as much notice as you can before your trip.  The nurse will then assess what is needed and then arrange for you to come in and review the information with you.  At that time you should then make a follow up appointment with the Practice Nurse to be vaccinated or to make a further appointment to have the vaccinations that we can do at this practice.  The nurse will keep you advised of when these appointments need to be made.

Family Planning

We give advice on all methods of contraception including fitting coils. The Practice Nurse sees patients in normal surgeries but decisions about changing your oral contraception or having a coil fitted should be discussed with the doctor first.

Child Development Clinics

All doctors in the practice provide child health surveillance facilities and development checks are carried out by the Health Visitors. It is important that all children and babies are fully immunised.

Child Immunisation Clinics

Baby Immunisations are performed by the Practice nurses - please make an appointment at Reception. If you have any queries regarding the immunisation of your baby, please do not hesitate to ask your practice nurse, your doctor or a health visitor.

Our counsellor is available by doctor's referral. The doctor will discuss with you how to make an appointment.

Minor Surgery

All doctors in the practice undertake certain minor surgical procedures which can save a long wait or an unecessary visit to the hospital. The procedures are carried out in the Treatment Room after initial consultation with the Doctor. Usually another appointment is made for the actual procedure.

Maternity Services

Care for pregnant women is usually shared between your Doctor, the hospital and the Midwife. The Midwife holds an Antenatal Clinic on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon and appointments can be made at Reception.

Post-Natal appointments are held at 8 weeks with the doctor and these can be booked via Reception.

Referrals are made to the Dietician service as needed following your consultation with the GP who will arrange the referral.

Private Medical Examinations

Medical examinations are usually performed outside normal surgery hours. Please contact Reception for an appointment. For other private appointments please speak to your doctor.

Patient Participation Group

This is a group of volunteers who are patients from the practice. They act as "spokespersons" on behalf of the practice population and communicate with the practice on any issues which will benefit the patients e.g. health education evenings. They are always looking for new members and if you are interested please ask reception for details.

Mayfield Medical Centre is part of the North East Hampshire & Farnham CCG who can provide patients with details relating to all primary medical services in the area.
