Consultations are by appointment only and can be booked in the following ways:

  1. In person
  2. Over the telephone
  3. Online - click here to read more

You are registered with one of the doctors but may see any doctor of your choice. We will strive to offer a suitable appointment within 48 hours although, if you specify a particular doctor, you may have to wait longer. We are currently booking a week in advance and you may not be able to obtain a routine appointment within our 48 hour target time frame due to the demand for appointments.  You should usually see the same doctor during the course of one illness.  Occasionally we also have some locum cover and you may be seen by one of the locum doctors instead.

We are actively reviewing the trends to see where the greatest demand is throughout the next few weeks starting 2nd November 2015 and nfollowing that we will look at how we can meet the patients needs better.

If you are unable to keep an appointment please let reception know as soon as possible.

Urgent cases will be seen on the same day. If you need to be seen on the same day please telephone between 8 am and 10 am. You will then be offered to attend an "On the Day appointment" usually between the hours of 11.30 am and 12.30 am but you will be offered a time to arrive to reduce waiting times in the surgery.  These appointments may be with a doctor or a nurse the same morning.  Please remember that these appointments are of short duration and for one problem only.

We aim to answer your telephone call promptly but please avoid ringing at peak times i.e. between 8.00am and 10am with routine enquiries.

Types of Appointments

The appointment system is set up to ensure that we are able to offer the best service possible to all of our patients. Please see below for a list of the types of appointments that we offer:

  • Emergency appointments - Appointments that can only be booked on the same day for emergency issues, please be aware that the appointments do overrun due to the nature of the clinic so you may not be seen at the allocated time you have been told to come down for.
  • Book the day before appointments - A certain amount of appointments are released to be booked one day in advance to ensure that if an issue arises that can wait until the next day there will be availability for you.  (This appointment has been temporarily suspended due to demand for on the day appointments)
Please note: Reception staff are unable to book either of these types of appointments in advance as they are not released until the same day or day before so please do not ask them to do so.
  • Routine Appointments
  • Chronic Disease Clinics
  • Practice Nurse Appointments
  • Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomy Appointments
